Bruins Academy / Learn to Play
Learn to Play is a program run by the Boston Bruins Academy that provides a unique opportunity for families to join the hockey community and for participants to develop fundamental skills to help them succeed both on and off the ice. Created jointly by the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) and the National Hockey League (NHL). Learn to Play’s goal is to inspire youth and welcome more families into the hockey community.

What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Appropriate players are between 5 & 9 years old.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Example: Season begins with tryouts in August and runs until playoffs in February.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Registrants of the Learn to Play Program through Twin City Youth Hockey will practice at the Wallace Civic Center, 1000 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg MA
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
The 2024 season program will meet on Fridays in October, at 6:30pm
COSTS
The registration fee includes a full equipment package as well as the 4 hours of ice time
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
A jersey is included with the full equipment package, purchased with the program fee through the Boston Bruins.

Can I go on the ice with my Skater?
We appreciate all of our on ice volunteers, thank you! For availability and required certification, please send your inquiry to our Club Secretary: secretary@tcyha.org
Will support be available to help dress my skater?
A limited number of staff will be available off ice to assist you, however - USA Hockey has put together a great video of how to dress a hockey player that we encourage you to view for reference:
