For the last four years, Twin City has hosted a Mass Hockey State Championship Tournament. This year, Twin City is coordinating the Bantam Tier III State Championship on March 5-7 at the Wallace Civic Center. As part of this tournament, we will be hosting 16 ice hockey teams from all over the state.

As we have done in the past, TCYHA will create and distribute a program guide that contains the schedules for all games, team pictures, other key information for those traveling, and advertising from local area businesses who made donations and contributions. The program will be a resource guide for our out-of-town guests.

Call to action: we are looking for local businesses to sponsor the tournament. This tournament represents a great way to get involved with a local youth sports league, while raising visibility for your business within the community. All proceeds will be used to grow the Twin City Youth Hockey program.

Reminder: the Annual TCYHA Parents Dance is fast approaching! The dance will take place on Saturday, February 13, from 7-11pm at the Monoosnoc Country Club, and will be an adults-only night out for the parents to celebrate the hockey season.

DJ Ray Richards will be playing your favorite songs and we'll have team basket raffles and a cash bar. This year we will also be raffling off:
• A year of free hockey for one child at Twin City
• Two 50% off discounts for a year of hockey at Twin City

If you are a team manager, please talk to your team about gathering items for the basket that your team will donate – one example might be a movie basket with movie tickets, DVDs and popcorn. Don't forget that teams are encouraged to dress up for the night, according to a certain theme. Last year's Mite 1s went with a "Jimmy Buffet fan" theme (see photo below).

You can also check the TCYHA web site for updates that may be relayed to us from Dual State regarding game cancellations, game changes or rink closures.

Online registration is now open for the Winter 2010 session of Learn to Skate and Hockey Development. Session runs from January 2 to March 20, 2010. These programs are a great complement for Mini-Mite and Mite players looking for additional ice time and instruction.
