2014 Little Bruins Learn to Play Hockey Program

TCYHA Family,

Twin City Youth Hockey is partnering with the Boston Bruins 2014 Little Bruins Learn to Play Hockey Program.  This partnership is allowing our young players an incredible opportunity to be introduced to ice hockey at a fantastic price.  Please note that this program is intended for players who are new to ice hockey, not existing ice hockey players.  Twin City members who have completed Learn to Skate/Learn to Hockey would be excellent candidates for this program.

The Boston Bruins are excited to kick off the 2014 Little Bruins Learn to Play Hockey program to help aspiring, youth hockey players develop their skills. Presented by Friendly's, the program is available to boys and girls ages 5-8. The program will be hosted at six different rinks across Massachusetts, including the Civic Center in Fitchburg, with 50 participants at each rink.

For only $100 ($360 retail value), the program includes full CCM equipment to keep, including skates, a professional fitting at MonkeySports Superstore in Norwood and four weeks of on ice instruction from Massachusetts Hockey coaches.

Friendly's and the Boston Bruins, in partnership with Mass Hockey, CCM and MonkeySports, are thrilled to share their passion with the new generation of hockey players*.

Interested players must register online via the Little Bruins website.  Complete information is also available on their website.  Space is limited for this program, so interested players should register now.

See below for necessary qualifications:

Please note, skating lessons are highly recommended before the start of the Little Bruins Program.  All children should be able to skate on their own, unaided.  Please check in with your local rink on skating lessons before starting the Little Bruins program.  In addition, this program is intended for children who have not participated in an organized hockey program before.  Children that have registered with a Massachusetts Hockey association previously are not eligible to participate in Little Bruins.

Learn to Skate/Learn to Hockey with Peak Performance

Greetings,

Registration is now open for Learn to Skate/Learn to Hockey with Peak Performance.  Working together with Twin City, Peak Performance has created a world-class learn to skate and hockey development program.  We feel that our program is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.  Children will receive excellent on-ice attention by our professional coaches.

Learn to Skate/Learn to Hockey is recommended for skaters ages 4 and up. It emphasizes skating techniques in a fun environment designed for those who have never skated or those who want to improve their hockey or figure skating. Participants will be evaluated and advanced only after meeting specific skating skill standards.

Cost for 2014-2015 is $160 for twelve (12) sessions.  Tentative schedule is as follows.  All sessions are at the Civic Center in Fitchburg.

No Player Left Behind & House Hockey Registration Now Open

TCYHA Family,

UPDATE:

The schedule is now available online for NPLB.  Visit our Schedule page and choose 2014-2015, No Player Left Behind, and then either U10 or U15 NPLB.

We are happy to announce that we will once again be offering both the No Player Left Behind (NPLB) and House Hockey programs this fall/winter.  Registration is now open.  House Hockey is being offered to those players ages 8 and under and NPLB is being offered in two separate divisions, U10 NPLB and U15 NPLB.  Registrations can be performed online at our website.

See below for descriptions of the programs:

U8 House Hockey

The Twin City Youth Hockey Association is forming a House Hockey League for youth hockey players ages 5-8.  It will include 14 practices and 12 games at the Civic Center.  Tuition includes: Team Shirt and Team Socks.

Whether you are a beginning skater or looking to advance your skating and hockey skills, this is a great chance to meet new friends and have fun.  House Hockey is a less intense version of U6 and U8 Mite Hockey.  It is ideal for those players that are new to hockey or wish a shorter, less intense season.

U10 & U15 NPLB

Twin City Youth Hockey Association is once again offering No Player Left Behind, for youth hockey players aged 9 and 15 this year.  It will include practices and games.  Like last year,  we are able to hold the price so low based on a generous grant from the Cheever Foundation.

Whether you are a beginning skater or looking to advance your skating and hockey skills, this is a great chance to meet new friends and have fun.  This program has been specifically designed to meet the needs of those kids who may have dek hockey experience but not ice hockey experience.  Twin City Youth Hockey is committed to providing options to make ice hockey accessible to all local players.

Best Regards,

TCYHA

New Members -- Accessing Schedules
TCYHA Family,

Welcome new members.  There have been many questions recently on accessing schedules for your team, particularly from new players in either No Player Left Behind, Learn to Skate, and House Hockey.  Accessing your schedule is easy.

To do so, use the Team menu above in the horizontal navigation menu.  From there, choose select Choose a Team, your division, and then your team.  For example, U11 No Player Left behind would be Team -> No Player Left Behind -> U11 NPLB.

You will also begin to receive email notifications approximately two days before each scheduled practice or game.  The email will let you know the date, time, and rink that you will be at.  For those that are new, there are two rinks at the Civic Center, Gaetz and Landry.  The Gaetz is the rink closest to the street.  Landry is next to the Gaetz and is separated by the parking lot.

Best Regards,
Twin City Youth Hockey

TCYHA Injury Policy
TCYHA Family,

We would like to briefly address our injury policy.

In the players' best interests, any injury that results in a player missing games or receiving treatment by a physician requires a clearance note from a physician before the player will be allowed back on the ice.  This note will also serve to close out the accident form that is generated at the time of injury, and will be kept in confidence.

While we do not wish to place an additional burden on you, such prudence is required for the long-term health of all of our children.

Thank you for your cooperation.

If you have any questions, please contact your division director or the players representative in person, or email the appropriate one at:
